HUMOR
A young girl of four had to have an x-ray taken at the medical office where I worked. She had been in an accident with her bicycle and the doctor was afraid she may have broken her wrist.
The girl, however, was very concerned about the procedure and no matter how her mother tried to calm her, she kept putting up quite the fuss as we led her into the x-ray facility.
When she came out a few minutes later, however, she was calm and all smiles. "They just took a picture of my bones," she explained to her mother.
"Yes, dear," her mom replied. "I told you it was easy. Did everything go well?"
"Yup. It was great!" the child exclaimed. "I didn't even have to take my skin off or anything!"

THOUGHT PROVOKING – INSPIRATIONAL
Signs
As the light begins to shift and the days lengthen, I look to the outdoors and begin to plan yard work, rake leftover leaves, and notice the activity of the critters and creatures.
All winter long two squirrels that have been in the backyard several years have survived and thrived. Give them a little corn, nuts, or seed and a bit of temperate weather, and they zip around like youngsters. They race, chase each other, and run up and down trees, doing death defying leaps from tree to tree via strong branches. They are lean, hardy, and frisky, even with all the harsh weather, snow, wind, and rain. In the severely cold weather, I picture them wrapped together in a strong tree nest defying the winds and chill. Yet still I wonder how they survive the severe weather.
The Bible tells us that God watches the birds and lilies--all His creation, and we are further comforted that his eye is also on us.(Matthew 6:25-34). Recently, our fervent prayers have gone to God for the hurting folks of Haiti and Chile. Seeing the news pictures of the crowded tents, wet campgrounds, destroyed villages, and hungry children, we can't see how they will survive. The conditions are harsh and seem hopeless.
How thankful we are for the charitable organizations and churches who care for God's hurting folk--whether survivors of flood, earthquake, or famine. We know that God sees and cares too. We can add our prayers and donations, knowing that our concern can help to alter conditions.
We cannot help but notice with growing awareness the "birth pangs" of earth--the frequency of catastrophes, the prevalence of war, the shifts in earth's rotation, the weakness of the ozone layer. With these signs and indications, we know that God is here too. He is in control; he holds the future in His Hands. I believe the faith of Christians will carry them through to a better place in time and space and ultimately to the place Jesus has prepared for us beyond time where we will be home eternally with our perfect, righteous, and holy Lord.

Not Forsaken
So many times in our lives, when troubles seem at their worst, it often appears there is not only no one to turn to, but no place to seek comfort as well. At these times, we feel lost, alone, and, often, unloved. The world appears as a massive dark room, its inhabitants grasping for glimpses of truth and light.
When hope is merely a word and not a reality, how easy it is to feel hopeless and forsaken during life's low points.
In the Bible, we are told that those who truly seek truth and righteousness will find it and those who are hurting and in sorrow will be comforted. In our heavenly Father's eyes, no one who earnestly seeks this is forgotten; all are loved in our Father's arms.
When your burden becomes too heavy to bare, call on One who is willing and able to lessen your heavy load and guide you down straight paths. His name is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. His gift is hope and salvation! With Him, one is never alone.
"..God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." - Hebrews 13:5
